Outdoor awning frequently asked questions
Have some questions about our outdoor awning manufacturing services?
We've compiled some of the most frequently asked questions to make finding the answers easy!
It all depends on the space and type of covering you are looking for. Morley Canvas can provide durable options including fixed awnings, retractable awnings, shade sails, umbrellas, or freestanding units.
All awnings can be customised with a range of materials to either block out the elements or allow some through to give the right amount of shade for your tropical garden. We also have canvas and PVC options that will prevent your clothes from getting wet on the clothesline.
Most options are waterproof, however, it depends on the requirements of the space that's getting covered. If you require a waterproof awning option, we will provide you with the colour and fabric options that will work with your existing property.
Alternatively, if you’re looking for an awning solution to provide shade, we have a range of premium shade sail fabrics available which will create the perfect fixed or retractable awning for any area.
For most outdoor awnings, we recommend the use of acrylic canvas, although, we can manufacture awnings using any canvas or PVC product.
Acrylic canvas is great for awnings as it has high UV properties and a long lifespan, whilst being waterproof and dimensionally stable. This means that it doesn't shrink like traditional canvas or stretch like some PVC fabrics, although both these materials are also sometimes used and have suitable applications for a variety of reasons.
Acrylic canvas also lends itself to a larger colour selection making it easy to colour your outdoor area with our custom outdoor awning options.
Your outdoor awnings will last for many years, although could last tens of years with the correct level of care. Most materials used at Morley Canvas include a 5 to 10-year suppliers warranty, and we provide a 1-year workmanship warranty on everything we do.
The main reason awnings break is leaving retractable awnings out while severe weather is around or through the use of harsh cleaning (using a pressure cleaner or harsh chemicals).
Some of our outdoor awnings are still getting used today that we made more than 25 years ago.
